Food & Wine Guide - Desserts
There is nothing like a sweet finale at the end of a delicious dinner. When pairing dessert wines, remember that the wine should be a bit sweeter than the dessert that you are serving.
The next time you order crème brûlée, try it with a glass of Sauternes. The sweetness and acidity of the wine are a great match for the creaminess of crème brûlée or even cheesecake. If you’re serving an especially nice Sauternes, you can skip the fancy dessert all together and let the wine take center stage; simply set out a tray of almond biscotti for something to nibble on.
