International Wine Cellars (IWC) Review

IWC 90
Pale yellow. Reticent nose hints at mirabelle, pineapple, toast and stony minerality. Sweet, fine-grained and easy to drink; less expressive than the regular village wine today but there's a bit more structure and length here. Finishes with a firm edge. (Incidentally, the Dessus La Carriere was in cuve awaiting bottling at the time of my visit. This wine has come along nicely since last year and now offers a lovely blend of rich, ripe yellow peach and citrus flavors with taut finishing minerality. It shows 90-92 potential and will likely need a few years of bottle aging.)

Wine Advocate (WA) Review

The 2011 Chablis Vieilles Vignes emerges from the glass with lemon, pastry, butter and white flowers. It shows the richness of the year, but with attractive floral and mineral components that give the wine its length and verve.

Burghound/Allen Meadows (BH) Review

This just oozes classic Chablis character with its layered nose of green fruit, mineral reduction, iodine and once again, a hint of orange peel. The rich and relatively full-bodied flavors brim with plenty of dry extract that really coats the palate on the impeccably well-balanced finish. The abundance of extract will allow this to be enjoyed young but it also imbues the ability to improve for 3 to 5 years. Fine quality here for its level.
