International Wine Cellars (IWC) Review

IWC 87-90

Good deep red. Expressive aromas of dark fruits, coffee and chocolate. Sweet, very ripe and pliant, with enticing inner-mouth aromatic character. Finishes with ripe tannins and lingering sweetness. This will make a good restaurant wine but should also last well. This was my favorite of the Jadot village wines, although the Nuits-Saint-Georges should turn out well, especially if Lardiere declassifies some premier cru juice into it, as he expects to do.

WA 87-88

The 2009 Gevrey-Chambertin is the best of the village-level wines. It shows tons of Gevrey character in a sweet, perfumed style I find irresistible, with gorgeous length and fine overall balance. The level of quality is admirable, considering there are 200 barrels of this cuvee. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
