Wine Advocate (WA) Review

WA 92
An absolutely brilliant wine produced by Philippe Cambie working with proprietor Gilles Ferran, from the well-known Domaine des Escavarailles, the 2007 Calendal is a limited production cuvee of 350 cases for the USA market. Made from a whopping 80% Mourvedre and 20% Grenache, it is better than many Bandols given its phenomenal intensity and meaty, beef blood, blackberry, blueberry, tree bark, and fresh sauteed mushroom aromas and flavors. The meatiness, density, superb purity and length are stunning.

Wine Spectactor (WS) Review

WS 90
Lush, with braised fig, blackberry and boysenberry confiture notes that are kept driven by underlying fruitcake, graphite and black tea. The finish is ripe and mouthfilling. Delicious.
