International Wine Cellars (IWC) Review

Deep ruby-red. Musky, somewhat reduced aromas of currant, milk chocolate, smoked meat and spices. Then supple, sweet and pliant on the palate, with a round texture given shape by complex mineral nuances. This rich, full wine offers a suave palate feel and finishes with sweet, fine-grained tannins

The 2006 Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from a 60-year-old vineyard in Perdriel and aged for 12 months in a mix of new and used French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a bouquet of toasty oak, scorched earth, pencil lead, and black currant. Layered and firm on the palate, this dense effort has enough structure to unwind for another 2-3 years. This lengthy effort will be at its best from 2012 to 2021. Jay Miller
